Irish farmer-owned dairy and grain co-operative Tirlán has reported revenues of €2.94 billion for 2025, a 10% increase on the prior year, driven by record milk supply volumes, disciplined cost management, and continued investment across its ingredients, consumer, and agribusiness operations.

Business Plus reported that the co-operative processed approximately one third of the Irish milk pool in 2025, totalling 3.2 billion litres, with milk volumes up 7% year-on-year and milk solids 9% ahead of the previous year. Operating profit came in at €63.7 million, within the company's target range, while core net debt fell to €126 million, its lowest level in over a decade.

Tirlán paid €1.8 billion to farmers for milk and grain in 2025, with an average milk price of 54.4 cent per litre, up from 52 cent per litre in 2024. Sales of 415,000 tonnes of dairy ingredients to global markets were achieved, with revenues in that category up 13% year-on-year.

The co-operative also spun out 15 million Glanbia plc shares worth €253 million and paid €9 million in co-op dividends during the year.

John Murphy, chairperson of Tirlán, said: "This performance was achieved on the back of excellent supply volumes, alongside disciplined cost and cash management. The Co-op continued to invest for long-term value creation across its Ingredients, Consumer and Agribusiness businesses, while maintaining a strong focus on supporting farm families through market volatility."

Seán Molloy, chief executive of Tirlán, described 2025 as a record year for milk supply, with a €126 million investment in a new whey processing facility at the Ballyragget site representing the co-operative's largest value-add investment to date. The facility broke ground in 2026 and is expected to be in production by mid-2027.
