Construction is under way on a £15 million (€17.5 million) expansion by Lisburn-based PRM Group, delivering a new logistics facility that will expand industrial warehousing capacity and operational infrastructure. The development demonstrates continued investment in large-scale industrial construction to support business growth and long-term operational requirements.

The Irish News reported that the family-owned chilled and frozen food sales, distribution and logistics business has broken ground on the purpose-built facility at its Moira Road headquarters. The first phase is expected to complete by the end of next year, creating 40 jobs, with additional positions planned as the site reaches full capacity.

The project, first proposed in 2021, will add more than 120,000 square feet of warehousing space, triple the number of loading bays and significantly increase pallet capacity. It will also incorporate modern office accommodation, dedicated innovation and product development areas, together with sustainability-focused infrastructure featuring energy-efficient systems and environmentally responsible design principles.

Founded in 1988 by Philip and Lynne Morrow, PRM Group distributes chilled and frozen food brands to retailers across Britain and Ireland. The phased development will complement the company's existing operations in Lisburn, Dublin, Dromore and Derry as it expands capacity across its network.

Chief Executive Philip Morrow said: “This development is a landmark moment for us and the culmination of four years of planning and preparation. The level of investment shows our confidence in the future of the business and our commitment to supporting our customers, supplier partners and employees.”

He added: “The new facility will significantly increase our capacity, improve efficiencies across the business and create new employment opportunities. It will also help future-proof our operations as we continue to grow across our serving markets.”

The company said the investment forms part of its long-term strategy to meet increasing demand from customers and supplier partners across Europe while strengthening its operational footprint through expanded industrial infrastructure.
