Latvia’s Mapon, a leading fleet management and asset tracking provider, has entered the Irish market by acquiring Fleet DATA (Envirokind Limited), a Galway-based company founded in 2012. The move positions Mapon to extend its footprint in Western Europe while maintaining service continuity for Fleet DATA’s existing clients.
Both companies specialise in GPS tracking, fleet management, safety cameras, and digital tachograph solutions. The acquisition allows Mapon to integrate Fleet DATA’s 13 years of local expertise, strengthening operational performance and supporting sustainability goals across client fleets. Fleet DATA’s founder, Stephen Connell, will now lead Mapon’s Irish branch, bringing continuity for staff and clients alike.
Mapon has a track record of European expansion, having acquired firms in Estonia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark. The company currently operates in multiple countries, including offices in the Baltic states, Spain, and a global partner network spanning Europe, the U.S., Latin America, Australia, and Africa. Its 2024 turnover reached €19.7 million, supported by a team of over 200 professionals.
The acquisition reinforces Mapon’s operational capabilities in fleet management, combining advanced tracking technology with local knowledge. Clients benefit from streamlined fleet operations, improved safety, and better resource utilisation, while the company leverages economies of scale and established processes to deliver efficiency gains.
Mapon secured €3 million in early 2024 through the Nasdaq Baltic market to finance acquisitions, underlining a strategic growth model focused on operational expansion and market consolidation.
